It is 1:00 and we are just getting onto I-5, going toward California. I think this will go into the record books as our latest start for a major trip.
Bill spent time washing the outside of the coach. He couldn’t finish the job last night because it got too dark. He always wants our house to look clean when we roll down the road.
Alas, the trip today didn’t last long. The brake that we had fixed at Kaiser Brake a week ago wasn’t working correctly. A trucker pulled beside us and indicated we had a problem. Thanks, trucker, whoever you are!
Smoke was pouring out of the left dual area. We are very lucky it didn’t catch on fire. Bill worked on it for about an hour...he called Kaiser and they said to bring it back. We were already 40 miles down the road, but able to turn around with not much trouble.
All went well on the journey back to Eugene. The MH is scheduled to be worked on next Tuesday. I rescheduled my appointment with Dr. Tischenko for September 8. “Flexible” should be our middle name.
Meredith reported that there is fresh snow on the mountain tops. She said it already feels like fall there. Bill is glad we are still at a lower elevation. Where is his sense of adventure?
Tomorrow, the Ducks have their first game. I hope we can get the game on TV. The stadium is about two miles from where we are parked, so we might be able to hear the cheering over here.
