This was the morning for the breakfast meeting of Yuma’s geocaching club. We left home at 7:00. Nearly all the tables were filled, so we went through the buffet line, found seats, and were still eating when the meeting started.
Most of the discussion centered around reports of the Mega Event held in February and plans for next year’s event.
We drove west into California once again to try to finish a power run that has turned into an ongoing project. Today we were able to complete it. The day was warm and sunny, but we had strong winds before we finished.
We were caching north of I-8 about 15 miles. There were signs of past mining efforts in the area...quartz, I think. As we were walking to one of the caches, Bill found a geode, aka thunder egg. Would you believe he hauled it back to the Honda? I nearly fainted from the shock!!! I am usually the “hauler of treasures.” Perhaps we can find someone to cut it in half. It would be interesting to see it there are crystals inside.
We spent the afternoon and evening watching the NASCAR race from Las Vegas. Both of us were tired from trekking around the desert in the wind.
