At 9:00 this morning, after dumping the holding tanks, and hooking the Honda onto the back of the motorhome, we did our imitation of Willie Nelson.
We drove west to Moscow where HWH is located. That is the company that made the hydraulic system for the Country Coach. There had been a leak for over a year and a half. Bill had tried several times to fix it, but wasn’t able to figure out how to fix it. He kept a towel wrapped around it to help keep the area clean. Occasionally he would add fluid to it. Not long after leaving Brent’s house, our leveling system started acting up. In order to ride with any semblance of comfort, Bill had to level the airbags and pull a fuse for any stability.
Yesterday, he put a clean towel on the lines. This morning, the leveling system seemed to work fine. We had an appointment at HWH for 10:00 tomorrow, and went there today to park, in case they could get us in earlier. They said they would try to work us in. Just before 12:00, we recieved a call saying we could pull the coach in to Bay 4.
Do you remember times when you would take a sick child to the doctor and the child would be OK? Well, it happened with the coach this morning The towel was dry There was no sign of a leak. Geez!
We left HWH soon after 1:00 and headed on I-80 toward Des Moines. After leaving the river area, we were in rolling hills...still farmland, but not quite as easy to plow. More fun, maybe, but also more of a challenge. The trees are just getting their light green leaves. Beautiful!
After 288 miles today, we parked for dinner and the night at Sam’s Club in Council Bluffs, Iowa, just across the state line from Omaha.
