October 8, 2011

I had hoped to be able to report Loveland’s first snow today, but no such luck!  The temperature was 43° when we got up, but it didn’t go lower as predicted.  We had rain and wind, but none of the frozen white stuff.  Drats!

We stayed in most of the day.  I finished several jobs so I made good use of the time...hemming Matthew's curtains, repairing a dress for Meredith, wrapping presents!  Yes, that’s what I said.  Wrapping presents.  Let me explain...

Christmas presents are usually opened on December 24th or 25th.  Because we travel hither, thither, and yon,  we are often not with family on those two designated days.  So we designate our own “opening” dates.  Today was the day while we were still with Michelle and Meredith and families.  We had a fun time, especially Matthew.  There were even presents for Joey and Hapa, who actually slept through most of the festivities.

It was still cold, windy, and wet by bedtime, but no snow!
