April 6, 2016—-Yuma, Arizona

At 10:00 this morning, Todd and Bonnie came to get us to go on an adventure.  We crossed into California and continued on I-8 to El Centro.  The highway took us past sand dunes, not far from the fence dividing the US and Mexico, through a dry desert setting where no houses could be seen for miles and miles, and to green farmland as we got closer to Holtville, Calexico, and El Centro.

It had been quite a long time since we had been in that part of the state.  Our destination was Costco for lunch and some shopping.  It was a nice drive, good hotdogs, and lots and lots of shopping.  It was a good adventure, all the way around.

There was a lot of road construction, which slowed us down.  It was nearly 4:00 by the time we got back home.  I took an hour’s nap, but was still tired when bedtime arrived.  I don’t have the stamina that I used to have and need.
