January 12, 2013

January 12, 2013

This was certainly a busy day for the Danes and the Meeks.  It was 24° this morning, so once again we delayed caching until after lunch.

We had a special event to go to today.  It was a geocache gathering called Whip Cream and Games.  It was held at Raven Art Gallery in the very northern part of Tucson, up next to the mountains.  The gallery owners are active cachers.

They ask us to bring food that would go well with whipped cream.  There were lots of goodies...pies, cakes, cookies, and fruit.  And about five flavors of whipped cream.  The games included a scavenger hunt and a cup stacking competition.  Neither Dwight and Shiela or the two of us won anything, but being at this gathering made all of us winners.

It was a really fun event held in the hosts’ studio.  We were able to meet many of the local cachers, plus several people from Canada.

I was able to find the cache hidden on their acre of property.  When the gathering ended we went in search of other finds.  We were able to log a total of eight caches.

Before returning home we stopped at McDonald’s for supper.

We got back to the MH in time to watch the last quarter of the Bronco game against the Ravens.  Sadly to say, Denver lost in overtime.  We are really bummed about that.
