January 4, 2013

We told Coleson and Sara “goodbye” last night, but Brent and Willie were up to wave...Brent with his hand and Willie with his tail...when we left Brandon at 8:30.

As usual, it wasn’t easy to leave, but we had a really good time with them.  I can’t decide who/what I’ll miss most...Brent, Willie, the kids, or Brent’s cooking.  Hm-m-m-m!

After dumping the holding tanks at Flying J, we took the Natchez Trace south.  The Trace is one of our favorite roads to drive on, and we take it anytime our travel plans allow.

At Natchez, we crossed the Mississippi River into Louisana (It has been so long since we have done our state line routine, we didn’t do too good of a job.).  By the time we reach Arizona we will have had some practice honking and yahooing.

We stopped at Walmart to have lunch...leftovers from Ed’s.  We got back on the road at 12:00, not even needing time for naps.

On the way east out of Alexandria we stopped at Walmart.  I went in for a few groceries while Bill took a nap.  Then it was back on the road again.

When we crossed over into Texas we did it up right!  Honk, honk!  Yahoo!  Before too long, we reached Jasper where we pulled into yet another Walmart for fuel and a place to spend the night.

Today’s Travel Totals:  Mileage, 297.
