March 27, 2013

March 27, 2013

We left the house at 9:30, headed for Old Tucson.  Yeehaw!  There were high, thin clouds.  We had hoped that with no direct sunshine it would not be a scorcher.  It might have helped a bit and there was a breeze blowing.

When we first got in the complex we took a walking tour with a historian.  It was very interesting.  He said with films, TV shows, documentaries, and advertisements being filmed there, the total is up to 700.  A film was just finished two months.

We walked around the streets, looking into various buildings.  We took a train ride around the town, with the engineer telling more interesting history of the place.

There was an interesting film museum where we spent quite a lot of time.  Many of our favorite Westerns were filmed there.

As we got ready to leave we talked to the historian for about 10 minutes.  That was an added bonus.

On the way back into Tucson I ask Tex where he wanted to eat lunch.  His choice was In-N-Out and, of course, that was fine with me.  Just as we got our order, a group of baseball players from a small college in Iowa came in.  Including coaches, the group totaled about 40.  They had been at a tournament.  It didn’t sound as if they did too well.

When we got home our sofa was back in place.  They did a really good job.  Bill’s place with a dent in it was very firm and comfortable.  He’s especially pleased with the the work they did.

After a chef salad for dinner, I worked on a beading project.  It is a bracelet I had started in Yuma before I got sick.  Hopefully, I can work on it some more tomorrow.
