August 12, 2011

August 12, 2011

It was overcast and cool this morning when we went for donuts and hot chocolate.

My only seminar this morning was about blogging.  I don’t know if I learned anything or not.  I’m guessing that time will tell, eh?

After lunch Bill and I went to the ice cream social.  The Frustrated Maestros, a chapter within FMCA, were entertaining the crowd with band music. The lines for ice cream were very, very long, but moved quickly.  We took our ice cream cups into the vendor section and were eating as we walked around looking at the things for sale, when the fire alarm went off.  We were told to evacuate immediately.  Hundreds and hundreds of people poured out the doors and across the street.  Add to the bedlam tour busses that were parked at the curb and trying to get out of the area while trying to dodge people in wheel chairs and 50 members of the band carrying tubas, drums, bass violins, etc.  It was quite a “show,” and all for a false alarm.  This was a new experience to add to our other unusual adventures in life.

The rest of the day seemed to be “ho-hum” after all that excitement.
