August 19, 2011

August 19, 2011

It was 64° with a blue sky when we left Sioux City this morning.  We didn’t realize that the state line of South Dakota was so close to where we parked for the night.  All of a sudden we were at Mile Marker 2.  As penance for neglecting our “home state” we did the state line routine (Honk, honk! Yahoo!) two times.

After we passed through Sioux Falls, we turned west on I-90.  We stopped at a Rest Area for lunch and quick naps before driving on into Mitchell.

After parking at Cabela’s, a fishing and hunting store, we went on our own kind of hunt...geocaching.

Travel totals:  Mileage, 155---cache count, 6---critter count, buffalo, maybe 20-25.  Too many to count as we cruise down the road.
