September 4, 2012

We had planned to do a “Willie Nelson” by 10:00.  No such luck.   We had forgotten to have Meredith and Michelle sign some papers.  So while Bill was getting the coach ready to roll I got the paperwork taken care of.

As Bill was hooking up the Garmin Nuvi, he dropped it.  The screen shattered.  Oops!  Bye, bye to our oldest Nuvi.

So before leaving town we drove to Sam’s Club to purchase an new Garmin Nuvi Navigation System.  We were amazed at how much they have come down in price.

After eating lunch at Sam’s we finally headed for Wyoming.  It was a pretty drive.  We stopped at a Rest Area just before leaving Colorado.  Bill wanted to check something on the motorhome. While he was doing that I checked on my iPhone to see if by any chance there was a cache close by.  There was!  225 feet from the MH.  Off we went to find it.

Not long after that we "Honk, honk, yahooed" our way into Wyoming.    And before long the landscape changed...very flat.  Add to that a very strong side wind.  It all made for an unpleasant drive to Medicine Bow.

We found four caches before the wind forced us to stop.  It was a really miserable day for caching.

Today’s Travel Totals: Mileage, 135--Geocaches, 5--Critter sightings--Antelope, too many to count.
