October 16, 2013---Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, CA

After getting off to a late start this morning, we went into Lone Pine to wash the Honda.  It was terribly dirty.  Before going back home we went to McDonald’s for lunch.

We looked at the calendar and decided if we want to get to Santa Fe by the 24th, we needed to leave this area tomorrow.  We don’t like to do “thunder runs (400-500 miles a day)” anymore.  If it became necessary we would do it, with both of us driving, but it isn’t our first choice.

I made two crosses this afternoon.  I wanted to give Kristi and Ellen each one.  It had been some time since I had made any, so I had to do some thinking.  It came back quickly and all went well.

Another motorhome parked in our area today.  It was a small rental Class C.  We saw the people coming back from a hike so we went outside to talk to them.  They are from England.  We chatted for awhile and then invited them in to see our house.  She said they had been wanting to see what a bigger MH looked like.  Most things in their part of the world are smaller.  We had a really nice visit with them.

Not long after they left, Kristi and Ellen came to tell us goodbye.  We hope our paths will cross again someday.  Two years in a row we have parked in the same area, so we’re all hoping it will happen again.
