January 14, 2014---Quartzsite, Arizona

The pancakes were good!  It was a little cooler this morning, with a slight breeze blowing.

We went caching after breakfast.  We were south and west of I-10.  The terrain was different.  Instead of flat areas like the past few days, we were on trails with lots of dips up and down mountains.

I will still classify today’s roads as “fifteenondary,” because of the dips that were sometimes deep and a challenge for the CRV.  Several times we were in 4-wheel drive to get up the other side.  The rock situation was better than yesterday, but the chance of high centering on the dips was a challenge.

After finding only two caches, we made our way to a river bed that took us back to civilization.  We saw a rather large roadrunner...our only critter sighting.

Before going home, we went to La Mesa RV for a lunch of spaghetti, salad, and a roll.  It was all very good!

I spent most of the rest of the day working on geocaching maps and loading coordinates into the GPSs.  There are still a bunch of caches to find in this area.
