September 23, 2011

Autumn dawned with a bright blue sky.  This is such a beautiful time of year with the changing colors.  It reminds me of a poem I wrote years ago.  I was teaching second grade that year, 1988.

Autumn

A single leaf lets go,
Brown in the morning sun.
Falls gently to the path below.
Autumn has begun!

Since we are in Colorado at the present time we hope to get up into the mountains to see the fall colors.

This was a good day to do some mundane chores.  While Bill changed the transmission fluid, I played at being a farmer.  There were several plants in desperate need of being divided and put in new pots.  With that task out of the way, I spent some time working on a craft project.

The afternoon temperature was higher than it has been for the past couple of weeks...in the mid 80s.  The thought crossed our minds that summer and fall got kind of mixed up.  Time will tell if that is a fair assessment.
