May 28, 2012

May 28, 2012

After graduating from college, Bill and I moved to a small mountain town in Colorado.  At the same time we became Denver Bronco fans.  One of our favorite players was Floyd Little. We still remember cheering him on.

Well, today when we were hunting a cache, we met a “local.”  He’s a dentist here in Meridian.  His name was David Little.  I ask him if he was related to Floyd Little who played for the Broncos years ago.  Imagine my surprise when he said that he was.  Dr. Little’s father said that they are cousins, several times removed.  Wow!  You just never know who you might meet.

Not only did we meet a Floyd Little relative, but in 2008 I met the “Barrel Man” who went to Denver Bronco games for 30 years wearing just a big barrel with suspenders holding it up, a cowboy hat and boots.  The barrel was painted orange to resemble a can of Orange Crush, which the Bronco’s defensive players at the time were called.

Oh, such a life we do lead!  We never know what interesting thing might be just around the corner.
