May certainly got here sooner than we expected. We’ll be heading toward Brent’s in a month and, soon after, our tribe of six will take off for Colorado and the Dane family pow-wow.
It was hot when we went to bed last night, hot all night, and hot and steamy when we woke up. We planned to stay in Tupelo one more night, but decided we would go on to the COE campground at Fulton and enjoy cool air, thanks to electricity. Thirteen years ago, when we first moved into the motorhome we didn’t mind the heat so much, but things have changed over the years. Our friend, Sheila, would call us “candy a____” and she would be correct. We aren’t as tough as we were back in the “good old days.”
I still had shopping I had to do before we left the area. When I got back home, Bill was ready to go caching. After finding three, we went to lunch at Captain D’s, bought a few items at Walmart, and did a “Willie Nelson.”
When we arrived at the campground we unhooked the Honda and drove around and around and around looking for the “perfect” place to park the coach. For a spot to be perfect there are two things to keep in mind...the MH has to fit and we want to be able to get satellite reception. Both things were tricky at this particular campground. By the time Bill decided on a site I was dizzy from all that going round and round.
The first day of May is called May Day. When I was a child we made May Baskets, filled them with flowers, and left them on porches of friends. I don’t know if the tradition still exists or not. I’m going to believe it does and send each of you a “virtual” May Basket. Its filled with love, happiness, many blessings, and lots of laughs that we want to share with all of you. Happy May Day!
