December 6, 2012

December 6, 2012

I spent the morning working on some medical things.  It was good getting some of that out of the way.  I had hoped to get some geocaching things done, too, but it wasn’t to be.  Perhaps tomorrow!

Brent, the kids and I went to a Christmas celebration at the park tonight.  The decorations were beautiful, with thousands of lights.  There was also a chile tasting contest.  We took part in that, of course.  A lot of people were there, but it was easy to get to most of the 13 tasting booths.  It was lots of fun, but very tiring.

If you read yesterday’s blog, you know Brent told Sara that reindeer can fly.  Well, there is a second chapter to that and it is something that I had never heard before today.

Meredith called to say shame on Brent for doing that to Sara.  Although she was joking about Brent, she told me of something that happened when we were moving to Oregon in 1980.  Having always lived in snow country, the kids had never seen reflective markers between the lanes in the highway.  (Those little markers don’t survive snow plows very well.)  They ask Bill about them.  He said “Oh, they are to help blind drivers.”  Meredith and I decided the nut didn’t fall far from the tree in this family.

We finished the evening watching the Bronco beat the Raiders.  Yippy, Skippy!
