December 26, 2015—An RV lot in Yuma, Arizona

We were having a terrible windstorm when we got up this morning.  The casita which is across the street and is under construction, had some wind damage.  The tar paper on the roof was ripped off in several places and will probably have to be completely replaced before the tile roof can be put on.

At one point, some of the insulation board blew off the side of the structure and a couple of minutes later was blown over the back wall into a neighbor’s yard.  The front door, which hadn’t been installed and was propped up against the wall, now appears to be lying on the ground.  We don’t know if the glass is broken and didn’t want to go over in the wind to check it out.  There is a limit as to what “spies” are required to do.

At noon, we needed to go to Walmart for some Rxs and, since In-N-Out is just a little ways further on, it made sense to go there for lunch.  It was very busy, but we were able to get a booth.  No one was eating outside at the tables because the wind was so terrible.

The wind continued to blow all afternoon and only got worse as night came on.  Our motorhome was rocking.  We have seen it worse before, but not often.
