December 23, 2015—An RV lot in Yuma, Arizona

Two more days until Christmas, and Bill and I just found out that we needed gifts for a gathering that we have been invited to on Christmas Day.

We went for a walk with Todd and the dogs.  The weather was much better than yesterday.  We had very little wind and only needed a light jacket…not like yesterday at all.  After our walk, we went shopping.

One of the places we were going to shop was Sam’s Club.  Our first order of business was to have a hotdog lunch.  While Bill was ordering our food, I sat at a table because I was feeling like I was “melting”…in other words, my legs weren’t going to hold me up much longer.

The table I sat at was occupied by a couple who had just finished eating.  They stayed at the table until Bill got there.  We had lots and lots in common with them and had much to talk about.  Jim and Margie were from Knoxville, Tennessee, before they went full-timing not too long after we did.  We had many travel experiences to talk about.  It was a delightful way to spend our lunch time.  Hopefully, we will see them again.

We had gift shopping to do.  Bill went through the checkout line while I was in the restroom.  While he was waiting for me, someone came up and said, “Are you Bill Dane?”  It was Frank and Margaret that we knew for years and years while we all living in Seaside.  We knew they had a place here in the Foothills area of Yuma, but we hadn’t been able to locate them.  We were lucky to all be at the right place at the right time.  Now that we have their address and phone number, we will be able contact them for more visiting after things settle down after the holidays.

We had one more shopping stop to make, but weren’t able to get the item we wanted.  We’ll try again tomorrow.  This has turned into a last minute frenzy!
