August 1, 2015---Elks Lodge, Walnut Creek, California

This month started off with a pleasant temperature.  No clouds in the sky, and no wind blowing.

The Lodge was very busy, as usual.  Lots of people were going in, most of them were carrying large plates and pans of food.  We don’t know what the celebration was for.

At noon, about 40 motorcycles came in.  They were using a different door.  I ask one of the drivers what was going on.  She said they were having a wake for one of their members, who was a member of this Lodge.

While they were waiting for the celebration to start, a priest went to each motorcycle, blessing it and sprinkling water on it.  This was something I had never seen before.  Hm-m-m-m-m!  Very interesting.

Bill took me to Lori’s.  She was going to a baby shower and there was a repairman scheduled to come fix her dryer.  So I hung around waiting for him.  He was finished with the repair job before she got back home.  The dogs were not happy about having a stranger in the house, but they survived.

When Lori got home, she took the dogs out for a quick walk.  Then we watched a movie, 5 Floors Up, and had popcorn, too.  Afterwards, we took Mexican take out back to the motorhome and ate dinner.

We were both tired after such a busy day, so we tried to get to bed early.  It worked for Bill, but not for me!
