March 21, 2016—-Yuma, Arizona

Happy first day of Spring!  Some of the desert flowers are blooming.  The ocotillo with their tiny green leaves up each tall slender branch and the red blossoms are so pretty at this time of year.  They are probably one of my favorite native plants in this part of the country.

There are several plants I don’t know the names for, but maybe I will learn them next year.  At least I should be able to find information at the library.  I know there is a Garden Club here and part of their focus is native plants.

Bonnie baked brownies today and invited them over to share with ice cream.  It was a great way to end the day.  I thought my friend Alice was the best brownie baker I had ever met, but Bonnie’s were just as good.  Hm-m-m!  Bonnie the beader bakes the best brownies!

By the time we came home, a cool breeze was blowing.  It was a very pleasant Spring evening!
