December 21, 2011

Once again we drove to the center of town to walk around the downtown area of San Luis Obispo.  There were still a lot of people shopping, but not nearly as many as this past weekend.

We walked to several cache sites.  Some were in parking structures which involved stairs.  Bill and I avoid elevators, if possible.  It is part of our “exercise program.”  In fact, it’s all of my program.  Bill does exercises three days a week in the MH.  He has to keep his muscles strong to be able to drag me up and down the stairs.

We stopped at a Subway to share a meatball sub.  Unfortunately, the caching map didn’t really like the sauce I spilled on it.  That kind of put the kibosh on most of the rest of our hunting.

More often than not, speed bumps are a nuisance.  I realize why they are necessary, but that doesn’t make them any more endearing.  The interesting things about them are the signs announcing their presence.  One read “speed table ahead” before arriving at a “bump” that went up, was flat for about five feet, and then went down.  Another sign that we liked announced “vehicle calming ahead.”  Perhaps we should make a study of their names!

Tomorrow we plan to leave this area so I spent the evening getting some chores out of the way to make our departure run more smoothly.
