December 27, 2013---Michelle’s in Loveland, Colorado

This morning, Bill and I were able to finish a clothes rack for Matthew’s room.  It is for him to hang his JROTC uniform, etc. on.  Bill made the board, stained it, and placed the hooks on.  I attached insignias for Air Force, Navy, Army, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as two for JROTC.  We installed it on his wall and Michelle hung his uniform and things on the hooks.

Then we called Matthew to come in.  I was waiting in the hallway and said, “Who goes there?  Identify yourself.”  Matthew gave his name and rank and I lead him into his room.  He was so surprised.  He really liked what we had made for him.  Michelle took pictures and sent them with a text to Lori, Meredith, Brent, and JP.

Brent had helped me find the insignias when I was in Mississippi.  He and Michelle were the only ones who knew about the surprise.  It was great fun to make.

We went to Meredith and Dwaine’s for Mexican soup, leftovers from Christmas Eve.  Dwaine had saved me a piece of pumpkin pie.  Wasn’t that nice!?  Bill had pecan pie.

We were watching TV in the motorhome when the electricity went off.  The whole neighborhood was dark.  We don’t know how wide spread the outage was.  Bill got the coach into “dry camping” mode and we finished watching the recorded show as if nothing was wrong.  You talk about spoiled!
