December 30, 2013---Loveland to Trinidad, Colorado

We were “on the road again” at 9:10 this morning, singing along with Willie Nelson.  We stopped at Costco and Cabela’s on our way south.

When we were hooking the Honda on to the coach this morning, Canadian Geese were flying over.  There were hundreds and hundreds of them, honking as loudly as they could.  My goodness, they were noisy.

Traffic through Denver was not heavy.  There have been improvements made on I-25 in the last few years and it really relieved the stress.

We stopped in Castle Rock to eat lunch, before heading on down the road.  When our kids were little and we were still living southwest of Pueblo in the tiny mountain town of Rye, there was a side road they loved to take.  It had lots of dips and was kind of like a roller coaster.  It was between Colorado Springs and Pueblo.  We saw it today, didn’t try to take the MH on it, but had fond memories of four little kids laughing every time we came to a dip.  There were about 20 dips so there was a lot of laughter.

We parked at the Walmart in Trinidad in time to see the Oregon Ducks whip up on the University of Texas.  They were playing in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.  We did bunches of cheering!  I wore my “duck” sweatshirt for the occasion.  It was Connor’s until he grew too big and it was just the size I needed.  I love hand-me-downs from our grandkids.

The wind started blowing very hard about when the game was over.  It really rocked the coach.  That will make for rough driving tomorrow.  Hope it quits!

Travel totals:  Today’s mileage, 255---Critter sightings, hundreds of Canadian Geese
