May 7, 2014--Council Bluffs, Iowa to Walmart in North Platte, Nebraska

I “yahooed” when we crossed into Nebraska.  Bill couldn’t honk because we were in heavy Omaha traffic.  He had to wait until things cleared out a bit before he could celebrate.

Omaha is really spread out.  It took us a long time to get through, not because of traffic, but because it is so spread out.  And there was a lot of traffic, but Super Driver handled it, as usual.

We drove on to North Platte, Nebraska, where we planned to stop for the night at Walmart.  We got there at 4:00, decided to stay, geocache, eat dinner somewhere and relax for the evening.

Not long after sunset, we were hit by a very big storm...lightening and thunder, high winds, and really heavy rain.  It lasted for about an hour, moved out, and then moved back in again, this time with some hail involved.  It was quite a storm.

Travel totals...Today’s mileage, 284---Caches found, 4
